Spooner Health Holds 9th Annual Golf Outing

SPOONER, WI (August 15, 2016)—Spooner Health held its ninth annual Golf Outing on Wednesday, August 10th at the Spooner Golf Course. Proceeds from the event will go towards special capital projects at Spooner Health.

“We had 19 teams this year and 17 major sponsors,” says Mike Schafer, Spooner Health CEO.  “In addition to the golfers and sponsors, we’d like to especially thank all of the businesses that donated items for the raffles and drawings. Our event would not be a success without their generosity!”

Platinum sponsors included:  BWBR Architects, Essentia Health, HealthTechS3 Management Services, Market & Johnson, Neil’s Lawn Service, NXC Imaging, Shared Medical Technology and Volunteer Partners of Spooner Health. Gold sponsors included:  CliftonLarsonAllen, Holden Insurance, Johnson Bank, Miller/Evenson and St. Croix Hospice. Silver sponsors included:  LMC Insurance & Risk Management, Legato Healthcare Marketing, Mark Van Etten, Wapiti Medical Staffing.

Josh Smith was the winner of the grand prize, a 10’ sit on top kayak. Many other prizes were awarded to participants including a Heartwood Conference Center two night stay and play package won by Ross Michaelson.

First place in the event went to a team from Shared Medical Technology with a score of 54: George Petry, Frank Zadra, Craig Zadra and Ross Mickelson. With a score of 60, second place went to the Community Bank of Northern Wisconsin team: Josh Villella, Jamie Busch, Chris Thompson and Shane Marino. Third place went to Tim Bassett, Dennis Moe, Adam Gustafson and Kevin Gustafson with a score of 60.  First place co-ed team went to a team representing St. Croix Hospice: Amanda Greene, Carrie Furr, Juan Valencia and Luke Peterson. 

Hole event prizes included:  Hole #1 Longest Putt, Cherie Bagley; Hole #2 Closest to the Pin, Adam Gustafson; Hole #3 Closest Third Shot, Brad Olsen; Hole #4 Closest to the Pin, Tim Bassett; Hole #5 Longest Drive (Women), Dani Ostertag; Hole #6 Closest to the Pin, Clint Miller; Hole #7 Longest Putt, Jim Davy; Hole #8 Shortest Drive, Bev Bohac; Hole #9 Closest to a Bunker, Kris Hahn; Hole #10 Closest Third Shot, Ross Mickelson; Hole #11 Closest Second Shot, Nate Webb; Hole #12 Longest Putt, Dave Haroldson; Hole #13 Longest Drive, Adam Gustafson; Hole #14 Longest Putt, Paul Missinne; Hole #15 Closest to the Pin (Women), Brooke Bezek; Hole #16 Closest Second Shot, Holden Insurance; Hole #17 Closest to the Pin, Jamie Busch; Hole #18 Longest Putt, Mike Knoepke. 

In addition to the hole events, a “Beat the CEO event” was offered at hole 4.  Golfers were given a chance to wager a bet with the Mike Schafer, Spooner Health CEO in exchange for bucket raffle tickets. 

After a 3-way tie and a double putt-off, Mark Bauer won a new putter for getting first place. Second place went to Penny Cuskey.
