Visiting Hours

Friends and family play a vital role in the healing process and we welcome visitors. Please be considerate of the patients schedule and know that your visit may be interrupted to provide necessary care to the patient.

Rest plays a vital role in the healing process as well. Please communicate with the patient you plan to visit to avoid their rest or therapy times.

For the health and safety of our patients, we do ask that you not visit if you are experiencing respiratory or flu-like symptoms.

Chaplain Program

Social Services

When someone becomes ill, there are often accompanying social, emotional, environmental and financial concerns. Our medical social work department has professionally trained social workers that help patients make arrangements to have their care needs met when they leave the hospital. This may include arranging for home care, meals on wheels, medical equipment, or a nursing home stay. The social workers can also assist with completing an advance directive, and provide support to patients and families in times of crisis or at end of life.

Advance Directives

An advance directive is a document that expresses a person's healthcare wishes. In Wisconsin, there are two types of legal advance directives—a Living Will and Power of Attorney for Healthcare.

Spooner Health is required to ask all patients if they have an advance directive. If a patient does, we must request a copy of the document. If a patient doesn’t, we can provide additional information about advance directives as well as arrange for a social worker to assist with completing the necessary forms.
